About the Author
Joyce Lankester Brisley (1896-1978) was only thirteen when her first story was published in a children's magazine. Joyce later studied at Lambeth Art School, and she and her two sisters all had paintings exhibited at the Royal Academy. She designed posters and book jackets, as well as illustrating the work of other authors. However, she is most famous for the creation of Milly-Molly-Mandy, whose enduring popularity makes her a true classic of children's literature.

Childrens Book Classic

Growing up in Germany in the sixties, I read the German translation of two of the books (called "Milli-Molli") and absolutely loved them. The German illustrations are even more beautiful than the original illustrations, believe it or not.
Until recently, I never found out that what I had read was only a fraction of what Joyce Lankester Brisley had written, so when I discovered that there are at least 4 Milly-Molly-Mandy books (possibly even eight?), I ordered them at amazon and with a delay of more than 4 decades enjoy now reading the series in it's entirety.
Very recommendable!!!

further doings of Milly Molly Mandy

I am an adult. When I was growing up, I read all of Milly Molly Mandy Books. I searched and searched but could not find them in the U.S. Thanks to Amazon.com I am now re-reading them and having them as collecters, when my grandchildren visit, I read it to them., and they love it. They are the type of books kids should be reading today as part of their childhood. The books are very pleasant, and it teaches about togetherness and sharing, not taking things for granted. It talks about gratitude. Thanks for looking for "my Milly Molly Mandy" books.

I Love Milly Molly Mandy Stories

My name is Laura. I am 9 years old. I read this book that was printed a long time ago. I really like the book because Milicent Margaret Amanda did very interesting things. One of the things she did was sending messages throughout the town by running around town and passing on messages. Her grandmother taught her to sew and she made a surprise pot warmer for the tea kettle. Even though this book was written 75 years ago it is still one my favorite books. I recommend this book to children who can read or their parents can read it to them.
